Salomia's is one-fifth of Stiks Distillery & Co., making up the entirety of the snack portion of this thesis idea. Salomia's is inspired by my great-grandmother Salomia 'Sally' Dinkel who was one of the most hardworking women in my family. In 1955 she found herself to be a widow after the unexpected passing of my great-grandfather Joeseph, leaving her on her own with seven kids. At one point in time, she was working three different jobs just to be able to support her family and herself but still making time for things she held near and dear. It was a complete no-brainer for me to include this influential woman from my family in my work.
